Summary
Dr. Gilbert Snow runs Snow Orthodontics, a 15-location group across Los Angeles, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties, spanning orthodontics, general dentistry, pediatrics, and oral surgery. With a dedicated call center handling inbound volume for the orthodontic offices, the team had the infrastructure to manage a high-volume practice. What they didn't have was visibility into the calls that infrastructure was failing to catch.
Challenge
Snow Orthodontics was handling about 5,000 calls a month and believed their call center had inbound covered. What they couldn't account for was simultaneous volume. For a 15-location practice, this was a significant problem: whenever a patient called a busy line, they went straight to voicemail and hung up, leaving no record of the attempt. The practice had no way of knowing how many calls were slipping through, or how often it was happening.
Their existing phone provider did not offer voice AI, which made the gap even harder to close. Dr. Snow began evaluating alternatives, eventually narrowing roughly 30 voice AI companies down to five before selecting Arini as the most capable option. Shortly after, he learned that several other large DSOs had made the same choice, which validated the decision.
Implementation
Snow Orthodontics took their highest call volume locations live with Arini and began expanding as the team validated that the agent could handle new patient consultations, hygiene scheduling, emergency triage, and the ortho-specific intake questions each office required.
Once Arini went live, Snow Orthodontics saw their tracked call volume jump from 5,000 to 6,000 calls a month. The extra 1,000 calls weren't new demand. They were calls that had always been coming in after hours, going unanswered and unrecorded. Arini surfaced years of invisible demand that Snow's previous infrastructure had never been able to capture.
From the start, the Snow Orthodontics operators were clear about what they needed from Arini: not just competence, but warmth. Dr. Snow pushed for a compassionate tone and the Arini team customized the agent accordingly. "When a patient says 'I can't make my appointment because I'm in the hospital,' Arini responds with genuine empathy before finding a solution. That kind of compassion is really important to me."
Results
Before Arini, 16% of Snow Orthodontics' inbound calls were disappearing. Within a few months of having Arini handle overflow and after-hours calls, Arini was booking 28 new patient appointments per month on average, generating $42,000 in new patient lifetime value each month. That didn't even include the value of existing patient bookings, cancellations, confirmations, and routine inquiries the Arini agent handled without any staff involvement.
Arini's numbers at Dr. Snow’s active locations only improved from there. In Q1 2026, Arini handled over 4,000 calls and booked $125,000 in new patient lifetime value. In April 2026, Arini set a record for Snow Orthodontics’ locations with 37 new patient appointments in a single month, generating $55,500 in new patient lifetime value.
This is exactly the kind of performance Dr. Snow was looking for when evaluating voice AI companies: "Some of the other companies had long lag or wouldn't give me good answers. Arini was the most impressive."
Request Your Call Report Benchmark
We’ll call each of your locations 5–7 times over the course of a few days using AI agents that sound and behave like real patients. We’ll evaluate how quickly your team answers, your missed call rate, how well common patient questions are handled, and the overall experience delivered to callers.
You’ll then receive a detailed benchmark report comparing your performance against tens of thousands of calls placed to practices across the United States and Canada, so you can see exactly where you stand and where the biggest opportunities for improvement exist.
